Bliz has been trimming the fat out
You evidently do not grasp the concept of personal responsibility within the game, or the concept of risk versus reward. Should you want everything provided to you with minimal effort invested into the rewards received, there are plenty of Free-to-Play MMOs out there. You can then buy whatever you want to get the instant gratification you so desperately desire.
But you have chosen Wow. And Wow tends to make you work for your rewards, whether they be raid based, PvP based, or profession based. And if you are not pleased with the product in its current format, you do have the option of taking your business elsewhere. You can find some cheap wow gold online to help you.
I'm sorry but an hour a day (or less at the beginning) for 32 days is a grind. It just serves no purpose other than as a time sink. I am not making a big deal out of this either, simply voicing an opinion on a message board which I guess in some people's eyes is the same as spitting in everyone's face who doesn't agree with me about it along with Bliz's.
I referred to it as hypocritical because Bliz has been trimming the fat out of wow pretty consistently over the last 3-4 yrs in a 'we are striving to take a lot of the grinds out of the game and make it funnier over time intensive' way but then threw this nice little grind in there for no real reason at all. If I am stretching the meaning of the word a little, I can only hope the people at webster's can find it in their hearts to forgive me. I never came close to saying or insinuating that the grind was in the tos or eula either or that I really even cared that much whether I got any of these patterns in my bs or eng. It’s just a game after all.
I don't mind someone enjoying the 'little grind' as you put it. I don't happen to raid anymore either, I could just see the point more in making the mats themselves harder to get, rather than saying 'do dailies whether you want to or not every single day in order to get this'. I never lack of world of warcraft gold. I didn't say getting from 1-85 is trivial either. I have 5 level 85 toons and another 2 still sitting at 80. My point was only how much easier it is to level than it used to be. This is just my own thread giving my own opinion, not the end all be all of anything which is how some people love to take things in order for them to get on their own high horses about anything wow related.
